Join us for a unique cinematic evening featuring the Kyrgyz award-winning film Black Red Yellow (Kara Kyzyl Sary) and a special discussion with its co-writer and director Aktan Arym Kubat – one of the most influential filmmakers of Central Asia
This is a rare opportunity to experience contemporary Kyrgyz cinema and personally meet a master whose works are recognized on the world stage
About the film:
Black Red Yellow (2025) is a poetic drama based on short stories by writer Topchugul Shaidullaeva. The film tells the story of a traditional carpet weaver and a horse herder, weaving together themes of love, family, and destiny through the powerful symbolism of carpet colors.
The film premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival, where it received the Golden Goblet Award
