Ala-Too Square

Ala-Too Square is Bishkek’s central public square and one of the city’s main open-air venues for large civic and cultural events. It hosts concerts, city and national celebrations, festivals, dance programs, children’s events, ceremonies, and other public gatherings. The event calendar at Ala-Too Square regularly features performances by Kyrgyz artists, creative groups, and folk ensembles, as well as themed programs and fan zones. The square was renovated in 2024: its granite paving and fountain system were renewed, new fountains and a 100-metre flagpole were installed, and ramps were added to improve accessibility for visitors with reduced mobility. Ala-Too Square is located in the heart of the city, next to the National Historical Museum and other central landmarks. As an outdoor venue, the visitor experience and access arrangements depend on the specific event.
