Kyrgyz Uluttuk «Manas» Teatry

Kyrgyz Uluttuk «Manas» Teatry is a state cultural venue dedicated to preserving and promoting the Manas epic, other Kyrgyz epics, and the art of traditional storytellers, including manaschi and dastanchi. The theatre received national status in 2022, and its new two-storey building in the Chon-Aryk area opened in April 2024. The venue includes a 300-seat concert hall. Its programme features concerts, performances connected with epic and traditional culture, creative meetings, competitions, festival projects, and musical-dramatic productions. A major part of the theatre’s work focuses on the Manas trilogy, oral storytelling traditions, improvisational poetry and Kyrgyz intangible cultural heritage. The theatre is located at 2/9 Samoilenko Street in Chon-Aryk, in the southern part of Bishkek.
