Выставка "Исследовательский интерес"

From July 14 to August 9, the Gapar Aitiev Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts is opening the exhibition “Research Interest.”
The exhibition was born out of a lively scholarly inquiry: participants in the International Seminar requested access to rare paintings, sculptures, and graphic works from closed museum collections for research. The museum is distributing these items in a single exhibition, opening wide access to works that are currently being studied by specialists from around the world.

The exhibition is being opened at the Gapar Aitiev Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts for a reason: the museum is co-hosting the international research seminar “Shaping the Field of Contemporary History of Technology in Central Asia.” The works on display represent a variety of genres and themes: Kyrgyz modernism, industrial painting, and indigenous landscape.

The organizers and partners of the seminar are Joan Kee (Director of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University) @nyuifa and Inga Lace (Chief Curator, Almaty Museum of Art) @almatymuseumofarts
The project is supported by the Getty Foundation and lays the foundation for future initiatives in the study of Central Asian culture at New York University.
The project’s goal is to connect researchers, curators, and artists from Central Asia to jointly explore the region’s modern and contemporary art.

Over the course of two years, participants will conduct on-site or collaborative research and artistic projects, and the resulting art historical materials will ultimately contribute to a broader global audience.
